I love a good romance movie. Add in a wedding and it’s even better. When it comes to movies with weddings in them, they run the gamut from classic musical comedies to silly modern comedy-of-errors to great romances. Here are some of the all-time best movies that feature weddings.
Royal Wedding – Can’t go wrong with any Fred Astaire film, several that have wedding themes.
The Philadelphia Story or High Society – Same story, both wonderful!
Sense and Sensibility – A double wedding at the end. Director Ang Lee does magic to Jane Austin.
The Wedding Banquet – Another Ang Lee film from his earlier days.
Bride and Prejudice – The Bollywood version of Jane Austin’s classic is lots of fun. Of course any version is wonderful.
Monsoon Wedding – Love the henna custom of weddings in India. The entire movie is a visual delight.
Muriel’s Wedding – Australia’s contribution of a great wedding movie and also the intro of Toni Collette.
Father Of The Bride – Classic or newer version, plenty of mayhem ensues in this wedding.
Four Weddings And A Funeral – One of the many romantic comedies with Hugh Grant.
My Big Fat Greek Wedding – So many reasons to love this movie: Actors, food, storyline.
Bridesmaids – Captures the angst and drama behind the scenes of a wedding so well.
Wedding Crashers – Just plain silly fun.
The Princess Bride – A big contribution for unusual wedding vows.
There are so many more… What’s your favorite?
