Are you ever so overwhelmed that you just can’t think straight? You have so many brilliant ideas for your wedding or whatever but you can’t get it all done quick enough? I have been feeling that way lately simply because there seems to be so much to do! The “to do” list is just brimming over with some important and some not so important tasks—that all add up! It was all getting to me so much that this is the second blog post in a week devoted to overwhelm. Last week I wrote a coaching blog with some tips to reduce overwhelm and here I am again today on the topic.
Somehow I am always reminded in the midst of the great overwhelm from day-to-day responsibilities that there is so much to be grateful for. If I don’t stop and recognize all of the wonderful—and I will add—magical moments that make up life, there really is no point. I am grateful that I have friends who inspire me and give me ideas for my blog posts. I am grateful that I have such loving couples as clients. And I am grateful that I have friends and colleagues and loved ones to help get me out of my overwhelm thinking. Recently a good friend and colleague listened to me (I’ll admit it) complain. Then she pulled me out of my overwhelm haze by simply reminding me that TTT—things take time. Well, I just love that she had an acronym for the concept and it is so true that TTT. Things take time whether they are big and meaningful (like planning a wedding) or everyday and necessary (like picking up food for the cat). All you can do is take one thing at a time and realize that all the little things in life add up to your whole life and it is always better to look for the joy even during the overwhelm.
