Magical Moment Mondays: Color

I love colors. Brights, pastels, muted, you name it, I love it. We have been in the process of painting our house this year and one of my favorite activities is looking at paint chips at the Benjamin Moore Paint store. Every possible color imaginable is available to tint your surrounds. And if that wasn’t enough color play for me, I found another way to appreciate hues. A few weeks ago I went to a wonderful event, The Sheep and Wool Festival in Rhinebeck, NY. There were so many amazing colors of wool. I basked in the glory of the visual delight of wool dyed in a rainbow of hues all day long. And of course as I say this, I am looking outside at all the vibrant colors of leaves. Yes, color is magical indeed!

Color
By Christina Rossetti

What is pink? a rose is pink
By a fountain’s brink.
What is red? a poppy’s red
In its barley bed.
What is blue? the sky is blue
Where the clouds float thro’.
What is white? a swan is white
Sailing in the light.
What is yellow? pears are yellow,
Rich and ripe and mellow.
What is green? the grass is green,
With small flowers between.
What is violet? clouds are violet
In the summer twilight.
What is orange? Why, an orange,
Just an orange!
