Labor Day was late this year so the calendar gave us a bit more time before having to face up to the inevitable—it’s back to school time! Even if you aren’t going to school or you don’t have kids who are going to school, the end of summer marks the time to get back to work, whatever that is.
Get Productive. At this time of year I get very motivated to re-think where I am with my business and with everything in my life. It’s back to regular routines—it’s fall broadcast season on TV—it’s the start of my favorite holiday season (Thanksgiving being my tops). And, yes, it is back to school time if you happen to be going to school. But back to school isn’t just for kids—it’s for adults too. And whether you hated going back to school in the fall when you were a kid, or loved it, you can make this transition a meaningful and positive time.
Get Educated. One of the best ways to ease back to fall productivity is to do like the kids and actually go back to school! Of course it doesn’t have to be a full course load working up to a degree—though that is good too if you want. Even signing up for a small class that inspires you will set you in motion by providing you some structure and motivation. How about a creative arts class? Maybe you can find something that will help you with DIY gifts for your wedding. Have you been thinking you want to learn a foreign language or take up an instrument? What are you going to try?
Get Support. Another way to re-energize yourself for the fall productivity time is to work with a life coach! A life coach can help you gain clarity on what you want in life, in relationships, in work, in health—you name it. And with a coach you get the support you need to put your plans in action. So whether you are thinking, “I know what I want, I just don’t know how to get there” or you are thinking, “I don’t even know what I really want to do next,” consider working with a coach. Check out Is Coaching For You? for more information.
Get Re-Engaged. Getting re-engaged (pun intended) with your wedding planning if you took time off during the summer might feel overwhelming. So take out your wedding planning list, take a deep breath and ease yourself back into everything wedding by selecting one small to-do item. Before you know it, you will back in full swing with your wedding preparations and feeling the enjoyment of fall productivity.
