Honeymoon Planning—Yippee!

With all of your planning for the wedding, it is easy to forget that not only do you get the pleasure of planning your big day, but you also get to plan a vacation with your new hubby or wife! Here are some strategies to get the most out of your honeymoon.

Get A Room!
Bed & BreakfastGet a hotel room near your wedding for the night of your wedding. Even if you are heading off so somewhere else for your honeymoon, you will be glad that you have a place to crash before the trip. It’s like a bonus day of honeymoon.

Enjoy Vacay In Advance!
There is tons of research that shows that planning a vacation and anticipating it can be as rewarding and relaxing as the actual trip itself. Take your time and browse through brochures and online pictures of where you are going. Imagine each day and all the fun you will have. Plan your itinerary, visualize each moment and build up the excitement!

Pack In Advance!
You don’t want to spend anytime packing the evening of your wedding or the morning when you are heading off. Plan your outfits, select your luggage, choose your magazines and books and get ready packed way in advance of the trip. This is a great way to get excited about your destination and stretch the fun of the trip (see Enjoy Vacay In Advance above). Heading to the beach—you don’t need to pack much. A Europe romp—bring good walking shoes. Road trip to a B&B—take as many suitcases as you want. Wherever you are headed, be ready to have fun with your new partner!

Decompress!

Remember that although you will be on a high from your wedding day, you might also be exhausted from everything. So it is important that when you plan your honeymoon that you include plenty of decompression time. Maybe that means getting a massage, maybe that means sitting poolside with a book, maybe it means sleeping. Whatever it takes to decompress from the wonderful and hectic days up to and including your wedding, make sure to schedule it into your trip.

You deserve to have the time of your life on your honeymoon! Bon voyage!
